Do you have experience working on boats?
San Francisco Boat Works accepts applications on an ongoing basis for employment in our boat yard. The experience we seek falls into these general categories:
• Bottom sanding, prep and painter
• Spray painter (LPU / epoxies)
• Gel coat and fiberglass application and repair
• Mast rigging rigger
• Gas and diesel engine mechanic
• Engine installer (new engine / repower)
• Outboard motor mechanic (preferably certified on Evinrude Johnson outboards)
• Ship Wright (woodworking & cabinets)
• Travel Lift Operator (includes work on fork lift and crane truck and maintenance of all)
• General technician (systems include plumbing, electrical, mechanical)
• Electronics technician
In addition to experience with these types of repairs, it is desirable (but not a requirement) that you are familiar with the operation of both sailboats and power boats and be able to move them safely in the water if requested to do so.
Prerequisites for employment include a legal work permit in the U.S. and background check.
Employment is usually full-time (40 hrs per week) year-round, at industry-competitive rates, with benefits available after a 6-month trial period.
